AbstractA rational method of designing ferrocement fishing trawlers is proposed in this study. Usage of timber effectively in the upper part of hull is introduced. A computer program to evaluate the hydrostatic properties of boat hull is developed and matrix method of analysis for the idealized hull form is also included in the design. A 24 m. ferrocement fishing trawler is selected for illustration and a cost estimate of this vessel is included in comparison with other types of construction.
