AbstractTo find new field for the application of microcomputer, a hypothetical model of rice mill sequential operations was developed. State of operation of different components was monitored by light emitting diodes. Information about the status of different components were supplied to the microcomputer and simulated output was used for driving the operational components like dryer motor and elevator. Inside the computer the inputs were simulated by a microcomputer program developed for the plant. It was concluded with the application of microcomputer to such simple model system that it can find its application in much complicated actual situations.
