AbstractA mathematical model is presented in this study, The objective of the model is a quantitative assessment of the urban runoff for the purpose of storm water management. The model is composed of the following sub mode ls: - Design Storm Pattern - Infiltration and Initial Abstractions - Depression Storage and -Overland Flow Supply - Overland Flow Routing - Gutter and Sewer Flow Routing Input data was : - Rainfall records from 1937 to 1978 - Physical modelling results of rainfall runoff simulation - Physical characteristics of landuse - Layout and hydraulic properties of the proposed drainage system. Model is based on hydrologic routing techniques , solving continuity equations exactly and approximating momentum equations, For a case study a model was used for the Bangkok sewer design. Due to lack of outfall hydrograph data it was not possible to confirm the validity of model by comparing observed and predicted outfall results. Therefore another independent approach, Rational Method was applied to the same conditions and results were used to check the validity of the proposed mode l. Performance of the model was found satisfactory.
