Abstract | This research analyses the adoption of agricultural innovations in two villages of Chiang Mai Province, northern Thailand. The main purpose of this study is to investigate the extent to which farmers have accepted agricultural innovations by examining the use of modern agricultural machines and new agricultural practices. A second objective was to find out who were the most effective agents of change in innovations to villagers. An intersystem model was applied in illustrating the interrelationship between villagers and each agent of change. It was demonstrated that any stage of adoption or introduction of innovations depends on the relation ships of social factors and forces that exist among villagers as well as between villagers and agents of change. Such interrelationships affect the adoption of agricultural innovations. |
