AbstractThe feasibility and behaviour of ferrocement-RC composite slab are studied in this research. A series of preliminary beam tests were carried out to observe the anticipated advantages of the ferrocement-RC composite action. It is found that ultimate strength method for conventional reinforced concrete can predicts well the ultimate strength of the composite section. In slab model tests the behaviour of arched and uniform composite slabs were observed and discussed. Arched composite slab may have the good resistance against punching shear and its full strength can be achieved.
