AbstractThe analysis of a periodic stochastic process is more complex than a pure stochastic process. This complexity can be overcome by standardizing the series or the analysis has to be done on an empirical basis. The statistical characteristics of negative run lengths and run sums in the cases of constant demands and variable demands are analyzed considering periodic stochastic processes as the supply series. The analysis in the case of constant demand is done empirically, while the analysis of a variable demand is by considering an independent or first order dependent Whitened series.
