AbstractThe dynamometer method of measuring draft components on tractor links has been used. A plough depth sensor was used to detect depth variations. Field tests were conducted with varying depths of ploughing (D) , and no-slip speeds at the gear being used (V) , at different field moisture levels (MC) The analysis of data gathered led to the establishment of empirical relationships between draft and the factors markedly affecting its magnitude. Linear and non-linear regression analyses were made. The expression with the best correlation was in the form of a first degree equation with three independent variables, Y = aD + bV + cMC, where Y is the draft of the plough; a, b, and c are constant coefficients. Empirical equations established are valid only for Bangkok clay soil and with a three-bottom disc plough.
