AbstractA weighing lysimeter which consists of a steel tank, a 2,000 kg platform type balance, and an outer cemented brick tank was constructed, installed and tested at the centre of a 10 m x 10 m field plot in Asian Institute of Technology experimental station, Bangkok. The daily evapotranspiration of maize was measured throughout the growth period during the dry season. The soil moisture content was kept at field capacity by replenishing the soil moisture daily. Tensiometers were used for measuring soil moisture content within the lysimeter. The total crop requirement for the whole experiment period i .e. one growing season was found to be 404 mm. The ET/E pan ratio were calculated and plotted against the different growth stages.
