Abstract | A monthly rainfall generation model and two daily rainfall generation models are presented and their suitability as inputs to the catchments is studied. Thomas-Fiering model and Markov chain models are used for monthly and daily rainfall generations respectively. The Markov chain models consist of two types, i.e.; Model-I with a structure of 6 x 6 transition matrix and exponential distribution functions for the extreme values and Model-II, which is represented by a 2 x 2 transition matrix and gamma distribution functions for the rainfall amounts. Calibration and performance of the models are tested by comparing some statistical parameters of the generated sequences and the historical data. The models are studied based on the data from the three stations in Quae Yai river basin in Thailand. |
