| Abstract | The stress trajectories of atwo-dimesional stress problem have been compared with the streamlines of a two dimensional, non-viscous, laminar flow problem, both problems having geoetrically similar boundaries, and identical loading and flow conditions. Streamlines were obtained both by experiment and by numerical (analytical but approximate) method. Comparison shows that stream lines for fluid flow are not in general analogous to the stress trajectiories for geometrically similar boundary condition. |
