AbstractThe purpose of this thesis is to study the nature of occurance of technological innovations through a study on the distribution of arrival of innovations. Considerable progress has been made towards the characterization and definition of innovations and the process of technological innovations. This study presents several definitions of innovation as is apparent from the various ways in which this term is used. Since technological innovation is the process through which technology emerges into social use, therefore the process of technological innovation is also reviewed. A number of past data on technological innovations have been collected. Chi Square goodness of fit test is then used to find the distribution of arrival of technological innovations.
