AbstractA mathematical simulation model is developed to forecast the operations of earthmoving in construction. A computer programme in Fortran; to handle all the possible different parameters in such as operation is presented. The model is designed to cope with labour intensive operation or capital intensive operation or a combination of both of them. Results of this investigation can be used to predetermine the optimum combination of different units in such an operation for the maximum benefits. A comparison of C.I. and L.I. processes, in respect to costs and time required for the same magnitude of work, is also investigated into.
