| Abstract | The study reported here-in, is concerned with the development of a methodology for technology assessment using generalized cross-impact analysis. The generalized cross-impact matrix is different from the conventional cross-impact matrix in the sense that the events considered for the assessment of the policy in the generalized matrix need not be sequential. With the help of this generalized cross-impact matrix, alternative scenarios are developed for the purpose of obtaining a spectrum of plausibile future prospects for technology assessment. simple statistical method is used for the purpose of obtaining the A scenarios, to obtain the resultant probabilities of the events considered for the assessment of the policy. These values of the resultant probabilities are then put down on the policy charts which areĀ· based upon the government policies regarding the events considered for the assessment of the policy. The proposed methodology is illustrated with the help of three examples along with conclusions and with some recommendations for future work. |
