| Abstract | An equation is derived which can be used to describe both the laminar and turbulent flow of a fluid through a homogeneous and isotropic porous medium. The flow equation is expressed both in differential and finite difference form. The solution of these equations is then presented which describes the distribution of piezometric head for the problem of turbulent flow in a porous medium confined between two parallel plates. Computations required for the numerical solution of this problem are performed on an IBM 1620 electronic computer. |
