| Abstract | Implementing effective waste management presents a challenge for organizations wishing to move toward a low carbon economy. Previous literature has attempted to determine the factors that facilitate entry into a low carbon economy. This research analyzed how facilitators impacted waste management approaches within Thai companies. The exogenous variables included environmental, social, and governance and managers’ experiences, while endogenous variables included managerial attitudes, environmental responsibility attitude, and waste management. Waste management in this case was a target variable, and environmental responsibility attitude and managerial attitudes were mediators. This study developed seven hypotheses to test the relationships of environmental, social, and governance, organizational level attitudes, and waste management to identify the facilitators to transform Thai companies toward a low carbon economy. Both quantitative and qualitative methodologies were used to examine the research model and hypotheses. Simple, multiple, and moderated regression analyses were applied to test the relationships among the variables in the research model. The Marlowe-Crowne scale was used to measure the social desirability bias, and the variable and empirical validity of this tool were established to measure the reliability. |
