| Abstract | This study investigates the elements that impact the adoption and uptake of smart home technologies services among Bangkok residents. Utilizing a mixed-methods approach, this study incorporates quantitative surveys involving 427 residents with qualitative interviews conducted with 5 experts in IoT systems, smart home design, and market trends.Key findings from the survey reveal that a positive attitude towards technical performance (ATP), particularly in areas such as safety, energy efficiency, and convenience, significantly impacts the intent to utilize smart home services. Conversely, perceived entertainment and leisure (PEL) features were not significant. Knowledge and skills (KS) in using smart home technologies, along with affordability and perceived value (AV), are crucial. Additionally, government initiatives and social network support (SN) play vital roles in adoption. The study recommends enhancing awareness of technical performance, developing educational programs, offering financial incentives, leveraging government initiatives, utilizing social network support, addressing security and privacy concerns, promoting energy efficiency, and creating user-friendly interfaces. Expert interviews validated these recommendations.A multifaceted approach involving various stakeholders is essential to improve user experience and promote widespread the uptake of smart home technology, thereby advancing smart living in Bangkok. |
