| Abstract | In this field, the applications of operations research Techniques in Transportation System Management, we have seen how this concept could be a valuable tool in decision making. The main advantages of this concept into provide in different modes of transportation, the fact is not only operations Research can applied in transportation systems, the elementary mathematics are required for solution of the problem. The disadvantages referred to the non linearity of the cost involved, and the non-recognition of carrier capability in the solution to the model. By summarizing and discussing an actual model solution it is felt that the application will provide an answer to what advantages or disadvantages prevail under specific circumstances. The applications of the analytical technique in transportation systems can be arranged the complex problem to the right direction. Practically analytical technique has been developed that can be applied to any massive set covering problem, and that can incorporate some side constraints. It can be applied to different modes transportation such that routing, bus, air scheduling crew scheduling problem. The problem is to choose the shortest route for different modes and to determine the departure or arrival of all vehicle and aircraft, the number of carrier needed, and also to minimize to waiting time of the passengers. |
