AbstractThis study includes the application of more fundamental concepts on the design parameters of aerated lagoon for the treatment of industrial wastewaters. The pulp (from Bang Pa-In Paper Mill), synthetic fiber and dyeing finishing (from Asia Fibre Factory) wastewaters have been used as the carbon source. The temperature lies between 25 to 30°C. The lab scale aerated lagoons, surface aeration type are used. The design parameters of Eckenfelder's approach includes, namely, substrate removal rate coefficient (k), mass yield rate (a), endogenous respiration rate coefficient (b) synthesis oxygen demand rate (a) and endogenous respiration oxygen demand rate (b'). All parameters were evaluated and discussed. They also were compared with those investigated by previous works performed at 20°c to see the temperature effect. The effect of wastewater characteristics on the value of these parameter were discussed. All values of parameters obtained in different wastes were compared together.
