AbstractAs the global construction industry continues growing and evolving, traditional schedule methods have shown clear limitations particularly real-time responsiveness and effective team collaboration. Such limitations present significant challenges in managing complex and dynamic project environments. This study addresses those challenges by proposing an integrated scheduling framework that combines traditional scheduling techniques with Lean scheduling Kanban methodologies, using Microsoft Project for master scheduling and Jira for task-execution scheduling. The primary objective of this research was to develop an integrated scheduling model that utilizes the strength of structured planning in conventional scheduling system, with the agility and visual control offered by Kanban boards. To accomplish this, a step-by step schedule manual was created using Microsoft Project and Jira for a case study in Myanmar. The second objective focused on evaluating the model’s feasibility through a mixed-method approach, quantitative Likert-scale surveys and qualitative interviews conducted with five construction planning experts. The study discussed the strengths, challenges and functional capabilities of the schedule model.Findings revealed that the integration model significantly improved task visibility, reduced coordination problems, and promoted timely decision-making. Experts particularly appreciated the real-time drag and drop functionality of Jira’s Kanban Board and its contribution to the team communication and transparency. However, challenges were also noted, such as manual data transfer issues, the practicality of Work In Progress principle, unfamiliarity with Jira in construction, etc. The study concluded by proposing an improved schedule framework which offers a better solution for modern construction projects aligning with the long-term planning and real-time site execution. The improvement were designed to strengthen the model’s real-world applicability and adaptability.
