AbstractIn 2024, Vietnam's economy demonstrated remarkable resilience, achieving a GDP growth rate of 7.09%. This growth was primarily driven by the services sector, which expanded by 7.38% and contributed 49.46% to the overall GDP increase. The industrial and construction sectors also played significant roles, growing by 8.24% and accounting for 45.17% of GDP growth. Notably, the per capita GDP rose to US$4,700, reflecting an increase of US$377 from the previous year. (http://gvietnam-briefing.com) The organizational structure, roles, and responsibilities of the project owner play a pivotal role in the success of large-scale hospitality projects, particularly in the competitive and evolving tourism industry. This thesis examines the WTH Beach Hotel Project as a case study to analyze the strategic significance of the project owner's governance framework, decision-making processes, and managerial responsibilities throughout the project lifecycle. Currently, there are numerous owners and developers in Vietnam, each adopting their own distinct approach to project management. While some projects are successfully managed, achieving efficiency and quality, many others face significant challenges, including schedule delays, budget overruns, and substandard quality. These issues highlight the disparities in project execution and the need for enhanced management strategies to ensure optimal project performance. It evaluates the project owner’s organizational structure, highlighting key roles in investment planning, project execution, risk management, and the Owner’s Consultants coordination. Additionally, the research explores best practices in project governance to ensure efficiency, sustainability, and long-term profitability. This study will conduct an in-depth analysis of the challenges associated with project management, propose viable solutions, and recommend enhancements to project management procedures in the context of organizational structure and communications, ensuring alignment with project objectives and successful outcomes.
