| Abstract | Over the past five years, the construction industry in general, and the power construction sector in particular, have faced many challenges due to the decline in material supply since 2019, the impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic, global geopolitical instability, disruptions in supply chains, and fluctuations in material prices. Despite these difficulties, the power construction sector has made significant efforts to complete many major projects on schedule, ensuring a safe and stable electricity supply for the country. However, several limitations remain in the tendering process, which affect overall project performance. One of the key factors determining a project’s success is the selection of contractors with sufficient capacity and experience. This study focuses on the project of the T2 transformer installation in Tuyen Quang province. The project started in April 2023 and completed in July 2024. Based on the approved feasibility study and cost estimates, the project was divided into 10 bidding packages managed by the project owner. The main purpose of this study is to identify existing issues in the contractor selection process of the bidding package “Supply, transportation and installation of 110kV transformer” through the internal audit of the tendering process. The study then analyzes the causes of these issues and proposes corresponding solutions to help the organization improve future contractor selection practices. |
