| Abstract | Performing the financial analysis and strategy formulation of a contractor, specifically “A Case Study of The Transport and Industry Development Investment Joint Stock Company (TCD)” involves a thorough investigation into the current status of a construction business contractor. This study is the result of 6 months of detailed research and analysis, carried out as part of my academic curriculum at the respected Asian Institute of Technology (AIT). The objective of the study to propose a strategic financial management for TCD in the coming years. It will begin by analyzing TCD's current state, including its financial data and strategy, business analysis, and a cross-company analysis. The study will then compare TCD's strengths and weaknesses with its competitors, review the prevailing macro-factors, and assess the construction industry in Vietnam. The conclusions of this study reveal TCD’s current competency in the construction market, offering a comprehensive examination of financial statement and critical financial indicators, including valuation ratios, profitability ratios, growth rates, liquidity ratios, efficiency ratios, cost of goods sold, profit, return to revenue, and cash flow. These findings are pivotal for comprehending the company's position, identifying potential challenges, and unlocking opportunities, especially within the context of Vietnam's currently stagnant construction industry. This analysis holds significant importance for investors and organizations focused on mitigating risks and boosting performance in similar construction ventures across Vietnam. Finally, this study reflects AIT’s commitment to fostering academic excellence and contributing to the construction industry in Vietnam. It provides a comprehensive analysis of TCD’s financial management, offering insights into its performance, potential challenges, and opportunities. The findings are essential for investors and firms seeking to optimize performance in Vietnam’s construction industry. |
