| Abstract | This report summarized the lessons learnt and evaluation of the employer’s contractual risk. As developing country, Myanmar, the construction industry is developing rapidly and international companies both consultancy companies and contractors are entering into county. It becomes more and more important to understand the standard form of the condition of contract and their risks. This report learnt about contracts and type of construction’s contracts which are used in the construction nowadays. The selection of the right contract type of the project is very important depending upon the project delivery system and payment. FIDIC contract is one of the commonly used international contracts and it is very essential to familiar with the contract to reduce risks. This report contains lessons learnt and evaluation of the employer’s risksincivilwork of a port expending project in Myanmar. The objectives of this report are to analyze the problems arise during the construction stage of the project and their solution adopted. And it is also point out the lessons learnt and future consideration. Moreover, the report highlighted the advantages and disadvantages of the condition of contracts used in this project. It is also concluded that the well-prepared contracts are very effective in reducing the risks. |
