AbstractThe purpose of this study was to develop a method for the economic design of lined and unlined channels. Based on the assumptions that there is no seepage losses in unlined channel and freeboard equals 25% of the depth of water, all the graphs were developed using numerical technique. Attempts were made to cover all possible range of values that are likely to occur, for different variables involved in the design. The graphs are developed in such a way that they can be used in any place of the world and al so suitable for any system of units.
